Why Receptarna
You can find a recipe online in a few seconds. A recipe that actually works is rarer than you might expect. Quantities are guessed, steps are skipped, and the photo often shows a completely different dish.
So we built Receptarna on one simple rule: we only publish what we have cooked ourselves. We make every recipe in our own kitchen, weigh the ingredients, note how long each stage took and photograph the dish. Only then does the recipe earn its place on the site.
How we work
- We cook it ourselves. We make the recipe using the written quantities and steps, just as you would.
- We weigh. We give ingredients in grams and millilitres, because cups and "a little flour" are not precise enough.
- We write down what happens. If the dough takes longer to rise or the oven behaves differently, we say so in the steps and tips.
- We photograph our own food. You will not find stock images or pictures from other sites in our photos.
- We keep improving. When we cook a recipe again and improve it, we update the write-up too.
Who we are
We are a group of home cooks. We are not a restaurant and we are not professional chefs – we are people who love cooking, baking and trying out recipes. Each of us has our favourites: one swears by home-made bread, another by no-bake desserts, a third by quick weekday lunches.
We have one thing in common: we only pass a recipe on once we have cooked it ourselves and it has worked. Every recipe on Receptarna has been personally tested in the home kitchen of one of us, and every photo was taken while it was being cooked.
None of our recipes was created by artificial intelligence, and we never publish a recipe we have not tested. Our recipes are made at the stove, not at the computer.
What you will find here
Home-made bread and pastries, desserts, soups, sauces, everyday lunches and seasonal dishes – from spring wild garlic to autumn plums and poppy seeds. The recipes are written so that you can make them successfully even if you do not cook every day.
